Releases

Everything new in the latest builds of FileFly — features, fixes, and improvements.

Version 3.2.0

July 4, 2026 · 9:00 PM

This release focuses on faster, more reliable device discovery on your local network — quicker announcements on startup, a more thorough initial scan, a clearer connection status, and a cleaner device list.

Show up on the network automatically

When you open FileFly, it now announces itself to other devices on your network immediately, so your laptop, desktop, and phone discover each other faster and with less waiting.

A more thorough first scan

On startup, FileFly now continues scanning for a full minute, so devices that take a moment to wake up or join the network reliably appear in your list instead of being missed.

A clearer connection status

The status indicator in the corner now shows exactly where things stand: Pending while FileFly is getting online, then Online once you're announced and ready to share — so you never have to guess whether you're reachable.

Friendlier empty state

When no devices have been found yet, FileFly shows a simple hint on how to scan again: go to Devices → Refresh Devices.

Polish

  • A cleaner, less busy device list header.

Version 3.1.2

July 4, 2026 · 12:00 PM

This update makes it easier to stay on the latest version, gives you full control over anonymous usage data, and brings a more polished install experience on macOS.

Check for Updates

You can now check whether you're running the latest version directly from the app. Open the FileFly menu and choose Check for Updates — FileFly reports whether a newer version is available and takes you to the download page. It selects the correct build for your system automatically on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Updates remain fully under your control: FileFly never installs anything in the background, and you choose when to upgrade.

Configurable usage analytics

FileFly now includes optional, anonymous usage insights that help us identify defects and improve the application. This is configurable at any time in Settings.

Collection is strictly limited: your files, file names, device names, and IP addresses are never collected — only anonymous, aggregate signals about how the app is used.

Redesigned macOS installer

The macOS installer has been redesigned with a cleaner drag-to-install window and Retina-resolution artwork. Builds are now signed and notarized, providing a faster and more trustworthy setup.

Ten supported languages

All functionality introduced in this release, including the update and privacy features, is fully localized into English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Dutch, and Malayalam.

Version 3.0.0

June 30, 2026

A brand-new FileFly, rebuilt from the ground up to make sharing files between your devices faster, simpler, and more secure. Send photos, documents, and folders directly across your WiFi or local network — with no cloud, no accounts, and no size limits.

Send multiple files at once

Drag and drop anything onto FileFly and send it in one go, with real-time progress for each file and for the transfer as a whole.

You're always in control

Incoming files arrive as a simple request — accept the ones you want and ignore the rest. Nothing lands on your device without your approval.

Find your devices instantly

FileFly automatically discovers other devices on your network, so your phone, laptop, and desktop appear ready to share. A one-tap refresh is available whenever you need it.

Keep track of your transfers

A built-in history shows what you've sent and received, so you can always look back.

Trusted, private sharing

Every device gets its own secure identity, and FileFly remembers the devices you trust. If a device's identity ever changes, you're asked to confirm before sharing continues, so you always know who you're sending to. Files travel directly between your devices and never touch a server.

Faster, more reliable transfers

A rebuilt transfer engine moves files more efficiently and recovers gracefully from interruptions and cancellations.

A fresh look

  • A clean, modern interface with full dark mode support.
  • Drag-and-drop sharing and a tidy, at-a-glance file list.
  • A redesigned Settings screen and a network/WiFi status view.

Now in ten languages

FileFly speaks English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, and Malayalam — including full right-to-left support for Arabic.

Available everywhere

FileFly runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Linux users can install via .deb, .rpm, or Snap.
