Installation instructions

  • Filefly does not have any complex system requirements, configurations, or additional software downloads. It's lightweight and powerful.
  • Filefly need to be installed on all the devices with which you wish to share files.
  • Windows 10 / 11 - Download and install FileFly application from the Microsoft windows store.
  • Linux Distros - Download and install FileFly application from the Snapcraft store.
  • macOS - Download and install FileFly application from the official
    Apple mac app store.
  • Run Filefly application.

Using FileFly application

  • On initial launch of the FileFly application, it scans for available devices. If you wish to rescan, press the refresh button.
  • You can create a custom name for your device by click the "Device name" under "Settings" menu.
  • Custom download location - Choose a custom download location from "Download location" under "Settings" menu.
  • Once the FileFly application is launched, it listens to any incoming transfers.
  • On receiving an incoming file transfer request, it alerts in the transfer screen, where you can accept or deny the incoming request.
  • Received files are stored in your systems default "Downloads" directory or to your chosen download location.
  • To send a file to a device, select the device from the "Available devices" section on the left. This opens a file send UI on the right, where you can "drag & drop" files or click to select files. FileFly supports multiple file upload. FileFly application need to be installed on both sender and target devices.
